Data Collection
Understanding exactly what data we collect and why.
Our Principles
- Collect only what's necessary — We only gather data needed for bot detection
- No personal identifiers — We don't collect names, emails, or other PII
- Transparent about collection — We clearly document everything we collect
- Minimal retention — We don't keep data longer than necessary
Tracking Pixel Data
When the tracking pixel loads on a page, we collect:
| Data | Purpose | Stored |
|---|---|---|
| Page URL | Know which page was visited | Yes |
| Referrer | Understand traffic sources | Yes |
| User Agent | Bot detection & classification | Yes |
| Timestamp | Time-based analytics | Yes |
| Screen size | Device type detection (bot vs human) | Anonymized |
| Country | Geographic analytics | Yes (derived) |
CDN Integration Data
When using CDN log integrations, additional data may be collected:
| Data | Purpose | Stored |
|---|---|---|
| IP Address | Bot verification via IP ranges | Bots only* |
| Request Method | Understand request types | Yes |
| Response Status | Track successful/failed requests | Yes |
| Request Headers | Bot detection signals | Selected headers |
* IP addresses for confirmed bots are stored for verification. Human visitor IPs are used only to derive country and then discarded.
